Connected to care when it matters most.
Colorado residents and visitors are famous for being active, and exploring every nook, cranny and canyon of our state. Which means Colorado needs a statewide network ready to handle any emergency. Centura Health responded to this need by becoming the very first statewide trauma network in the nation. Partnering with local communities, Flight For Life® Colorado, and a comprehensive EMS support system, we are a valued resource to more than 130 pre-hospital agencies. In life’s MOST critical moments, we consistently provide the highest quality care.
FAST FACTS
The following are a few facts that we would like to call out from FY2010.

Of all trauma deaths, 30 to 40 percent occur within one hour of injury; 30 to 40 percent of these deaths are preventable with timely, appropriate care.
More than 7,000 trauma patients are treated annually within the Centura Health Trauma System.
Our Trauma registry is the only one in the state and contains over 45,000 patient records. This registry enables sharing of best practices throughout our organization to improve patient outcomes.
EMS/pre-hospital learning opportunities include the Biennial Symposium on Trauma and Critical Care hosted by Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs and the Wilz Trauma Symposium in Pueblo.
500 physicians and health care specialists attended the two-day Critical Care Medicine Symposium sponsored by the St. Anthony Health Foundation at the Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam.
